In this lecture, we had a guest speaker, Matt Smith come in and talk about his passion for puppetry and his theatre talents in the light of performance and body. He talks about his experience of the Eschaton foundation, Anselm Keifer's 22 Acre artistic environment in France, and finally the Treadgold's Forge Exhibition that he was a part of.

Smith talks about the restraints in theatre, he believes in letting 'your imagination fly and not worry too much about all the practical restraints.' I feel this is a very good approach everyone should take, as your body is limited by many conditions.
Perception:
Space is perceived through our body and senses, everyone may have a different perception but that doesn't stop us from knowing the reality. Memories are stored in our unconscious state of mind, however when a memory is triggered this recollects the emotional senses from the memory in the current time. Juhani Pallasmaa says 'every touching experience of architecture is multi-sensory; qualities of space, matter and scale are measured equally by the eye, ear, nose, skin, tongue, skeleton and muscle. Architecture strengthens the existential experience, one's senses of being in the world,' (Pallasmaa, 2005: 41)
