'Phenomenology is the study and exploration of the physical experience of buildings, building materials and their sensory properties.'
The movement in the philosophical understanding of architecture began in the late 1930s, and then grew in the audience in 1980 until today. The architecture was solely about the look and not the human experience.

In my understanding, phenomenology proposes a new approach to architecture that outlines a person's sensory experience in a space. In our seminar the week after we have given an extract 'The Interior Experience of Architecture: An emotional Connection between Space and the Body.' The extract emphasizes the importance of interior experience and how interior experience is developed through sensory stimulation. I understood that there are various factors to consider when designing to create connections between the body and interior space, the 'morphological, sensual and influential factors.'
